Problem Note 60939: Procedures MEANS, REPORT, SUMMARY, and TABULATE might produce incorrect results when calculating weighted MIN, MAX, and RANGE statistics in-database

DetailsAboutRate It

When run in-database, the MEANS, REPORT, SUMMARY, and TABULATE procedures might produce incorrect results when calculating weighted MIN, MAX, and RANGE statistics.  The SQL that is generated and submitted to the DBMS to calculate these statistics does not account for missing and non-positive values of the weight variable. Statistics might be incorrect if either of the following is also true:

  • the weight variable contains missing values
  • the weight variable contains non-positive values that should be excluded when the EXCLNPWGT option is used

Correct statistics are generated when these procedures are not run in-database.
